In this self defense workshop, you will practice knife defense developed with the goal of surviving and escaping a violent attacker who is bigger and stronger.
We discuss the attacker/ victim psychology, how body language can betray intent, how to safely fall, footwork and the environment to maintain distance, how to use and hold the blade, how to keep from being disarmed and help prevent being grappled.
All training equipment will be provided. Participants should wear full length workout pants or tights, and a long sleeve or rash guard shirt. Jewelry such as rings, bracelets, long necklaces, long earrings or other body piercings that risk getting tangled or caught, should not be worn.
This class is for ages 14+.
